Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our online pharmacy, prescriptions, pricing, and shipping.

🏥 General Questions
Is RxLyte a licensed pharmacy?
+
Yes. RxLyte is fully licensed by the NABP® (National Association of Boards of Pharmacy) as a Digital Pharmacy, and holds individual state pharmacy licenses in all 50 U.S. states. We are also LegitScript Certified and BBB Accredited with an A+ rating.
How is RxLyte different from my local pharmacy?
+
RxLyte is an online-only pharmacy that focuses exclusively on affordable generic medications. Because we operate online without retail overhead, we can offer prices 70–92% lower than traditional pharmacies — without sacrificing quality, safety, or service.
Do I need insurance to use RxLyte?
+
No insurance is required. RxLyte offers cash-pay pricing that is often significantly lower than insurance co-pays for brand-name medications. Many patients find it cheaper to pay our prices directly rather than use insurance.
What states does RxLyte serve?
+
RxLyte dispenses medications to patients in all 50 U.S. states. Our pharmacy team holds active licenses in every state, and we ship throughout the continental U.S., Alaska, and Hawaii.
💊 Prescriptions
How do I transfer my prescription to RxLyte?
+
Transferring is simple: provide us your current pharmacy name and phone number, your medication name and dosage, and your prescriber's information. Our pharmacists contact your current pharmacy directly and handle the entire transfer — typically within 24 hours.
Can I upload a new prescription from my doctor?
+
Yes. You can upload a photo or PDF of your prescription directly in your account dashboard. Our pharmacists review and verify all prescriptions within 1 business day. You can also have your doctor send it directly to us by fax or electronically.
What types of medications does RxLyte dispense?
+
We dispense FDA-approved generic and brand-name prescription medications, over-the-counter (OTC) drugs, vitamins, supplements, and veterinary (pet) medications. We do not dispense controlled substances (Schedule II–V drugs).
How many refills can I get?
+
Refills are determined by your original prescription. Most maintenance medications (chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol) allow up to a 90-day supply with multiple refills. We send refill reminders so you never run out.
Can I set up automatic refills?
+
Yes. You can enable auto-refill for any maintenance medication in your account. We'll process your refill 7 days before your estimated run-out date and notify you when it ships.
💰 Pricing & Savings
Why are RxLyte prices so much lower?
+
We dispense FDA-approved generic medications, which are therapeutically equivalent to brand-name drugs at a fraction of the cost. Additionally, operating online eliminates retail overhead costs, and we pass those savings directly to patients.
Are the generic medications as effective as brand-name?
+
Yes. The FDA requires generic drugs to contain the same active ingredient(s), in the same strength and dosage form, with equivalent bioavailability. Studies show generic and brand-name medications produce identical therapeutic outcomes for the vast majority of patients.
Does RxLyte accept insurance?
+
Currently RxLyte operates on a cash-pay model. However, many patients find our cash prices are lower than their insurance co-pays. We accept HSA and FSA cards for eligible prescription medications.
What payment methods do you accept?
+
We accept all major credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), HSA/FSA cards, and PayPal. All transactions are SSL-encrypted and PCI-compliant.
🛒 Ordering
How do I place an order?
+
Search for your medication, select the strength and quantity, add to cart, and checkout. If we don't have your prescription on file yet, you'll be prompted to transfer or upload it. First orders typically process within 1–2 business days after prescription verification.
Can I order for a family member?
+
Yes. You can manage multiple profiles under one account — helpful for families. Each family member's prescriptions are kept separate and private. A valid prescription is required for each patient.
What if my medication is not available?
+
We stock over 1,000 FDA-approved generic medications. If a specific medication or strength is temporarily out of stock, our pharmacists will contact you to discuss alternatives or estimated restock dates.
🚚 Shipping & Delivery
How long does shipping take?
+
Standard shipping takes 3–5 business days. Express 2-day shipping is available for an additional fee. Free standard shipping is included on all orders over $35.
How are medications packaged?
+
All orders ship in plain, discreet packaging — no pharmacy branding visible on the outside. Medications are packed with temperature-appropriate materials as needed and include full labeling, dosage instructions, and a pharmacist counseling sheet.
Do you ship to P.O. boxes?
+
Yes, we ship to P.O. boxes as well as residential and commercial addresses throughout the United States.
